Hand-Carved & Painted Rajasthani Mango Wood Dog Kennel & Side Table – Ivory Acanthus & Celadon Bird Top
Carved, Not Painted. Until the Top.
The companion to our navy floral dog kennel — same format, entirely different vocabulary. Where the first is richly painted, this one leads with carving. The entire frame is natural warm ivory and cream mango wood covered in dense hand-carved scrolling acanthus and vine relief, with gold-yellow highlighting worked into the carved recesses. The decoration is the carving itself. The flat top is painted in celadon and sage green with a naturalistic bird and floral garden scene — two birds among flowering branches in warm coral, pink and gold. Two drawers below the top carry painted celadon fronts with brass ring pulls. Two iron bar front doors with small knob handles and iron bar side panels. A more architectural, classical character than the painted companion — and equally extraordinary.
