A Box Worth Keeping.

A hand-painted mango wood keepsake and jewellery box in a long low rectangular form, sitting on four small bracket feet, with a central iron clasp on the front. The ground is jet black on both the lid and body, with gold painted edges and border banding running all around. The lid carries a large central medallion-style floral arrangement: a bold orange and yellow peony or chrysanthemum at the centre, flanked by pink roses, all surrounded by dense, lush dark green acanthus leaf and foliage that fills the entire lid surface — more dramatic and jungle-rich than our garland companion box. White scrolling vine details weave through the leaves. The front body panel carries a continuous scattered small pink, yellow and mauve floral vine border. Beautiful on a dressing table, a bedside, a console, or given as a gift.
