Hand-Carved Antique Whitewash Decorative Rocking Horse

A Horse Worth Looking At.

This is not a toy. This is a large sculptural rocking horse — hand-carved from solid mango wood with the kind of detail that takes time to fully see. The horse’s body is covered in an elaborate decorative harness: scrolling vines, floral medallion chest piece, carved saddle and bridle detail, all in deep relief. The rocker base is equally considered — heavily carved with acanthus leaf scrolls curling at each end. The carved mane, open mouth and alert upright ears complete a figure that commands any room it stands in.

The antique whitewash finish is applied over the full carving, settling into the relief to give the piece the quality of something genuinely old. Use it as a sculptural accent in a living room, study, nursery or entryway.
