Find a Mirror.

From the front, this is a deeply carved cobalt blue jali window panel — two hinged Mughal arch doors covered in an intricate open geometric star and cross fretwork, the kind of carving that casts shadow patterns on the wall around it. Open the doors, and there is a mirror inside, framed by the same Mughal arch and surrounded by the carved vine border frame.

The distressed cobalt blue finish is aged and layered, with warm wood grain visible wherever the paint has worn through. Iron hook latches hold the doors closed. Hang it with the doors closed as a jali wall panel, or keep them open to use it as a functional mirror with an extraordinary frame.

At a Glance

Two hinged Mughal arch doors with deeply hand-carved open jali geometric fretwork

Mirror inside — revealed when doors are opened

Intricate star and cross open lattice cutwork on each door

Carved scrolling floral vine motifs on surrounding rectangular frame

Iron hook latches to hold doors closed

Deeply distressed cobalt blue patina — aged and layered finish

Dual function: decorative jali panel (closed) or functional wall mirror (open)

Dimensions

Width: 48 cm (18.9 in)

Depth: 3 cm (1.2 in)

Height: 60 cm (23.6 in)

Materials & Care

Solid mango wood — sustainably sourced

Hand-carved open jali fretwork; distressed cobalt blue painted finish

Mirror glass behind doors

Iron hook latch hardware

Dust regularly with a soft dry brush or cloth

Clean mirror glass with a slightly damp cloth

For indoor use only

Country of origin: India

Each panel is hand-carved and individually distressed — variations in the jali pattern, paint wear and cobalt patina are intrinsic to the piece.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0988/8464/9263/files/image_440d59d5-587c-43c7-ba99-dfdb55bbfc09.png?v=1788399864
https://narmounehomeaccents.com/products/antique-cobalt-blue-jali-window-mirror-with-hinged-mughal-arch-doors
